How to record screen on a computer

Screen recording lets you capture your computer screen with or without audio. You can use it for tutorials, online classes, presentations, gaming, or problem explanations.

Method 1: Using Xbox Game Bar (Built-in)

Steps:

  1. Press Windows + G
  2. Click Capture (camera icon)
  3. Click Start Recording or press Windows + Alt + R
  4. To stop, click Stop or press Windows + Alt + R
    📁 Video saves automatically in: Videos > Captures
    ⚠️ Note: Doesn’t record File Explorer or desktop directly.

Method 2: Using OBS Studio (Free Software)

✅ Best for professional recording

Steps:

  1. Download OBS Studio
  2. Open OBS → Click + under Sources
  3. Select Display Capture
  4. Click Start Recording
  5. Click Stop Recording when done

Method 1: Using Screenshot Toolbar

Steps:

  1. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 5
  2. Select Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion
  3. Click Record
  4. Press Stop from the menu bar
    📁 Saved automatically on Desktop.

Method 2: Using QuickTime Player

  1. Open QuickTime Player
  2. Click File > New Screen Recording
  3. Click Record
  4. Click Stop to save
